A Registered Charity committed to promoting the welfare of children and ensuring that they are kept safe.
As a Foster Carer with us you will join The CFT family and be continually and consistently supported by us.
Each Foster Carer has an allocated Supervising Social Worker who will provide regular Support and Supervision.
We also we operate a 24/7 out of hour’s service all year round, with access to support from our social work team in times of need.
As a not for profit fostering agency, you can be sure that we are there to make lives better, not make huge profits. Any surplus that we do make is directly re-invested into enhancing our services and the support we give to our wonderful foster families and children.
Some people consider Fostering to be a career in which they can give back the community by helping a children or young person in need.
At The CFT we recognise that Fostering is a skilled job and we view our Foster Carers are professionals.
As a result our Foster Carer’s are paid generously and our fees are highly competitive and some of the best across the UK.
You just need to have at least spare bedroom available in your home to Foster.
You need to be in settled, secure accommodation and have the space for a child or children.
You can be renting and Foster with the permission of the landlord of the property.
Our Foster Carers are well rewarded, and we pay exceptionally well for the exceptional job you do!
CFT Carers receive highly competitive rates of pay and a range of other benefits.
Unlike some other agencies, we do not reduce weekly payments with regard to the age of a child, as such our Carers receive exactly the same weekly fee regardless of the child’s age.
We believe that you are as young as you feel. Foster Carers must be over the age of 21 to Foster, however there is no upper age limit.
Foster Carers need to be reasonably fit and healthy and able to take an active role in the child’s physical and emotional well-being.
We understand that people have gone through different experiences in their lives.
Some people believe that their personal circumstances may preclude them from Fostering and are anxious about taking the next step.
Having a previous criminal conviction or a medical condition doesn’t automatically prevent you from Fostering, however we will need to discuss this with you.
If you have a question about your eligibility to Foster, our friendly team are always happy to have a completely confidential chat with you.
You can have a huge impact on a child’s life – and they can on yours.
But don’t just take our word for it, here’s what our children have to say:
“People should be Foster Carers, because everyone is beautiful” – K (aged 9) Foster Child
