On Tuesday 16th January 2018, our South Central team opened their office doors for the first fostering information day at their new home in Waterlooville. Our open day took place from 10AM to 8PM and was open to all members of the public who would like to learn more information about The CFT.
Prior to the open day our two social work students, Sam and Becky, distributed posters to library’s, community center’s, doctors surgeries and local shops. They also arranged for flyers to be posted to over 7000 homes in the local communities where we need Foster Carers.
Our regional office was decorated with CFT bunting and balloons were tied up to the entrance of our office and at the end of our road to help people find our new premises. There were a variety of biscuits, teas, juices and coffee for everyone who arrived.
There was plenty of CFT merchandise to go around our prospective Carers which included mugs, pens, trolley tokens and bags for life. The students had prepared information packs for potential foster carers and our staff were more than happy to make themselves available to speak to everyone who had any questions about the fostering role.
Everyone at the office had a great day and offered to help as much as possible. We are very happy that the open day and the advertising efforts before it resulted in enquiries from people wanting to learn more information about our organisation and what fostering entails. Excellent News!
We would like to thank Sam, Becky and all off our other staff from South Central for their hard work in planning and pulling off this event!
If you were unable to attend this event but would still like more information about Fostering, don’t worry… we are always looking for new foster carers to help us take care of vulnerable children and young people.
