We sure have been busy bouncing around this Easter! Our regional offices held each of the Easter events during the school holidays and celebrated the occasion with lots of fun activities for our children.
South Central Easter Fun Day
Our South Central event took place in a local church hall in Waterlooville, where Ian from Longdown Dairy Farm came to visit with some very exciting animals! He had lots to share with the children including Donkeys, piglets, goats, ducks, chickens and baby chicks. Ian gave an informative talk to the children about the animals and they were able to ‘pet’ and hold them. The children enjoyed getting to meet the animals and watching a goat race, where they were able to help bottle feed the goats.
Our children also showed their artistic side by visiting the arts and craft table to make hats and masks and after lunch the children took part in an Easter egg hunt.
West Yorkshire Bowling
Yorkshire celebrated Easter this year with a trip to the Xscape in Castleford. We had 3 lanes and 3 teams ages ranged from 7 to 17. Carers dropped the young people off with staff and went off for a coffee and a chat together whilst staff supervised the games of bowls.
All who attended appeared to have enjoyed the afternoon and enjoyed spending time with each other. Some nice friendships are developing amongst our young people and it is always great to see young people having fun, whilst encouraging and supporting each other.
After the games it was time to collect Easter Eggs, that were kindly donated to us by local company Gi Group. You can read more about the donation here
West Midlands Easter Jungle Party!
West Midlands held an Easter Party on 10 April where we had crafts, making eggs cups, Easter baskets, chocolate nests and Easter cards. There was also an Easter bonnet parade with 2 winners and 2 runners up.
The Animal Man then visited with a cockroach, lizards, snakes, a Tenrec, an owl and a skunk.
The children actively participated in the day and really enjoyed learning about these animals. Ofcourse they were very excited at the idea of holding and stroking the animals, and some of our staff even got involved!
North East Craft Day
Our North East Office held a craft event for Foster Carers and the children to come along. Children painted eggs, coloured in pictures and generally got very very crafty! Everyone had a lovely day and came away with lots of colourful creations.
All of our Easter events were well attended and the enthusiasm from everyone who came, ensure that all had an egg-cellent time.
We would like to thank all of the staff, carers and guests who were involved in planning these parties, we really did have an amazing time!
