Easter at The CFT!

Easter 2017 was once again packed full of joy & laughter for all at The Children’s Family Trust! This year was a particularly special year with a surprise from Virgin Money Bank in Bishop Auckland. Virgin very generously gifted Easter Eggs for the children of our Northern regions which had been donated by members of the general public. The children were thrilled with the Easter Eggs and we would like to say a very big thank you to everyone at Virgin Money for making some chocolate loving children very happy!

But Easter did not stop there… with events being held within our regions for our Foster families and our annual Easter competition taking place, there was lots of fun to be had and lots of opportunity for our children to show us their creative streaks!

The Midlands office threw a wonderful Easter party with many activities including egg painting, games, making Easter baskets, making yummy nest cakes and taking part in an Easter egg hunt! There was lots of fun had by all and the day turned out to be a great success.

Our South Central children & carers ventured out of the offices and into the countryside with a visit to Long down Meadow Park where the children had a lovely day bottle feeding the calves, bottle feeding the goats, enjoying tractor and trailer rides and lots more!

Trying something completely different, our West Yorkshire team decided to opt for an Easter event with a spring in its step at Gravity Trampoline Park in Castleford. Children ‘bounced’ for an hour and then received an Easter egg to help refuel their energy! In total 14 children attended, ranging in age from 13 months to 16 years. The children had a fabulous time and it was great to see the children catch up with each other and wish each other a Hoppy Easter!

Our Easter Competition was once again greatly received and participated in with some fantastic entries from our budding young artists! This year’s theme was to design an Easter egg, with no limits on how you could do this! The entries were, as always, so creative and brilliant and it made the job of picking a winner for our CEO, Marina, very difficult. Marina eventually settled on 5 winners for this year’s competition, whose entries can be seen below!

From Everyone at The CFT we would once again like to thank everyone who took part in our Easter events and can’t wait for the same next year!
