Fostering in Newcastle

Home of Newcastle United FC, we need people to join our CFT Team and help us take care of and support children and young people in Foster Care.

We need Foster Parents in Newcastle and the surrounding areas to help us take care of children and young people in Foster Care.

In recent years, we have continued to receive referrals on a regular basis for children and young people requiring foster placements in Newcastle and the surrounding areas.

In response to this, we are currently recruiting more Foster Carers in these areas to help us provide stable and secure homes to more children than ever before.

Make a difference to a child’s life.

Children and young people in care need a safe, loving and secure home, and Fostering can provide this environment to help children realise their full potential.

Anyone can apply to become a Foster Carer as long as they have what it takes to care for children separated from their own families.

There is no ‘standard’ type of Foster Carer but when searching for new carers, we look for individuals who are warm, caring, reasonably fit and healthy and have a spare bedroom available for a foster child/children. There is no upper age limit in fostering, however you will need to be at least 21 years old in order to apply.

Positive Influence on a child in care

We would love to hear from people who feel they can make a positive impact on a child’s life.

This can be done by providing many different types of foster placement, ranging from short term and respite placements to long-term and permanent placements.

We will discuss all the different types of fostering with applicants during the enquiry and assessment stages, so that they can consider what type of placement may be best for your family.

We give our Foster Parents all the support they need

Fostering is often a hugely rewarding role filled with lots of happy memories and positive experiences, however at times, it can also be challenging. At The CFT we pride ourselves on the support we afford to all our Foster Carers and want to ensure that they feel supported through every step of their fostering journey.

As such, we have a number of support services that carers can access should they ever need any advice or someone to talk too. We also provide our Carers with highly competitive payment fees and a generous benefits package to help them take care of the children in their care.
