Fostering in Middlesborough

Providing the Teeside Steel used to form Sydney Opera House, Middlesborough needs strong and stable individuals to help build better futures for children and young people in care.

We need Foster Carers in Middlesborough and the surrounding areas to help us take care of vulnerable children in Foster Care.

We need Foster Carers in the Middlesbrough and surrounding areas to help us take care of vulnerable children in Foster Care. Many children are brought into Foster Care through no fault of their own and are in need of safe, loving and secure homes to help them realise their full potential.

Make a difference by becoming a Foster Parent

Applying to foster can be a big decision, however fostering is a hugely rewarding role that many people continue to carry out for many, many years.

Anyone can apply to become a Foster Carer as long as they have what it takes to care for children separated from their own families. There is no upper age limit in Fostering however you will need to be at least 21 years old, be reasonably fit and healthy and have a spare bedroom available for a foster child/children.

We will support you throughout your foster care journey

Although fostering is more often than not, a very positive experience, at times like with most things, it can sometimes be challenging.

However you are never alone, and help is always on hand, including our 24 hour out of hours service. The CFT pride ourselves on the service we afford to all our Foster Carers and we also provide our Carers with highly competitive payment fees and a generous benefits package to help them take care of the children in their care.

Different types of foster care

We would love to hear from people who feel they can make a positive impact on a child’s life, including those who wish to provide shorter term placements for children in care, and those who feel they want to make more of a long term commitment to Fostering.

There are many different types of fostering, and we believe that people need to choose the type of fostering that is the best ‘fit’ for them and their family.

Therefore we will discuss all the different types of placement with you during the enquiry and assessment stages, to help you identify what works best for you. You can read more about the types of placement we offer here.
